There is something very American about Zolan’s independent little spirits. They seem to be constantly exploring the frontiers of their small worlds.
Living only minutes from Wrigley Field, the Zolan family were big baseball fans. In this collection, Zolan captured his fondest baseball moments as a little boy.
When I started painting children in my early 20’s, I don’t recall making a conscious decision about how to paint them. It was mostly intuitive. For adults to remember and to feel the sense of wonder, I had to create a real child experiencing it.
I wish that all Children of the World could have a childhood filled with love, hugs and kisses, a childhood free from fear and want. And, I hope that through my art, I can somehow make a difference to a life and to lives of many.
I have always believed that spirituality and creativity are interconnected and I have known that my creativity is a God given gift therefore faith is always synonymous with my work.
